A very attractive and elegant 1890's period solid quarter sawn oak hall seat. This beautiful hall seat has it's original golden oak finish, and boasts a pretty diamond shaped beveled glass mirror, which is original and in very good condition. It has four very fancy antique brass butterfly shaped hangers. The center panel below the mirror is pierce-carved in a lyre shape. The crest has fancy applied carving which echos the pretty "leaf and scroll" design hangers. The hall seat is solid wide and heavy. It is 77 1/2" tall, 27 1/2" wide at the arms, and the seating area is 16 3/4" deep. An umbrella-cane holder is attached to the right side of the hall seat. There is no drip pan, probably missing for years. This exceptional hall seat would be a perfect entry was piece for any home!
