Item #: 0933900A
An early and quite lovely Atterbury Company oil lamp that would please the most discriminating collector! This Atterbbury lamp features a "baroque" patterm milk glass base, brass twist on connector, with a deep amethyst coin dot pattern font. The font is hand enameled in the "Mary Gregory" style. The design is of a gentleman in knee britches offering a flower, with foliage and tree background. The foliage pattern is repeated on the back side of the font. The scene is cream in tone, and may have been lighter in color when new, (1870-80's). The burner is a P&A CO. brass burner, with patent dates of 1-16-83 and 8-19-97. this is most likely an old replacement. The chimney is a replacement. Dimensions of the oil lamp are; 21 3/4" tall with chimney, 11 1/2" tall without the chimney, and the baroque base is 5 1/2" square. It is in wonderful condition for it's age, no chips or cracks. It would be the highlight of many oil lamp collections, so why not add it to yours?
