Item #: 5134 Here is a very nice looking Colorado Midland lantern with lots of original tin in excellent condition made by the Handlan Mfg. Co., St. Louis. The single wire guard frame has the original twist-off Handlan fount and burner that is all tin. There are a few very minor dings in the top dome from years of use. The bottom base wire looks to have been re-soldered together a long time ago. The frame has been cleaned of oil and dirt, then hand polished. It stands 10 1/4" tall without the bail. It comes with a 5 3/8" tall dark amber unmarked melon globe that looks root beer colored. It has three minor outside top rim flakes, and one very small inside bottom rim chip or flea bite that will not show when in the frame. A very hard-to-find antique railroad globe. Colorado Midland lanterns are getting harder and harder to find in excellent condition like this one, and it is sure please that special Railroadiana collector!
