A hard-to-find Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Lantern that is sure to please! This frame has lots of original tin and solid metal on this late turn-of-the-century lantern. The lantern was well taken care of after many years of use. It is made by the Adams & Westlake Company, and is embossed on the top lid "The Adams & Westlake Company, Chicago, New York", with the patent date of "May 26th, 1895". It is stamped to the right of that "Pat. May 5, 1908". The lantern is 10 1/4" tall without the bail, and is in excellent condition for its age. It has only been cleaned of oil and dirt, then hand polished, and is ready to display. The lantern comes with a hard-to-find 5 3/8" tall clear medium to strong cast "D&RG" in serif letters in a square edge rectangular panel Corning style globe. The globe is in excellent condition with only three very minor small outside top rim flakes that will not be seen when in the frame. The lantern comes with the correct A&W fount and burner that has lots of tin and no pin holes. This lantern would make a wonderful addition for any Railroadiana or Denver & Rio Grande Railroad enthusiast, why not you?!
