Regular price
$70.00
Item #: 5047 A nice early celluloid lithograph advertising/souvenir piece from the Southern Pacific Railroad, Great Salt Lake Route, Lucin Cut Off, Utah, in very good original condition. The round lithograph shows a train on a bridge. The clothes brush is sepia tone celluloid, with horsehair bristles. The celluloid shows light crazing from age but considering the fragile and flammable nature of celluloid, it is in great condition. Celluloid was created in the late 19th century as a cheaper alternative to ivory. It retained popularity until after World War ll. The horsehair bristles are in very good condition as well. The brush is 3 1/2" in diameter, and 1 1/2" tall. A desirable collectible to display in your collection!
