Item #: 1374J Very desirable black amethyst vase, with a hand painted design of a young a girl standing with a flower in her hand. Very lovely! And no, we're not mistaken when we say that it's black amethyst. This vase looks black unless held up to a bright light. Has one 1/8" flat lip flake at the back of the top rim of the vase (see picture), otherwise in excellent condition. The vase is blown glass, with a polished base, no pontil. The base edge shows some shelf wear. This vase dates to post 1950's, as pieces done after 1950 had standing children instead of playing children as in earlier pieces. Measures: 7 5/8" tall. One to admire!
